I sat and tried to think of something to write today. Never a good sign. Usually I can’t get to the computer fast enough and the words are pouring out of my head as I try to make notes in my phone and sometimes on my hands so I won’t forget the ideas.
Not today. Today there was nothing. Nichts. Nada.
It’s amazing what you can find when you have nothing on your mind. Like this http://www.donothingfor2minutes.com. An exercise in mindfulness for 2 minutes. It’s pretty cool, just the sound of waves and the instruction not to touch your keyboard, or else you FAIL. Yep. Uninspired AND procrastinating!
So today’s food fare is less than blog-worthy: green smoothie for brekky, salad for lunch and dinner, fruit and nuts for afternoon tea. There’s nothing super inspiring I want to share with you.
I’m regretting giving you maca and tahini yesterday; I should learn to pace myself. It’s like feast or famine around here.
So instead of trying to pull a rabbit out of my hat – no hat, no rabbit. I’m going to share some great raw blogs with you.
I found this link to 50 raw blogs and I hadn’t seen most of them: http://psychologyofeating.com/top-50-raw-blogs/. It just goes to show how many raw blogs there are out there, when you can have a top 50.
My current faves are: This Rawsome Vegan Life; Sweetly Raw (as the name suggests devoted to sweets); A Simply Raw Life; The Happy Raw Kitchen; Raw Vegan Power; Betty Rawker; Real Raw Kitchen; and Rawmazing. Although not exclusively raw I also love: Green Kitchen Stories; and Gluten-free Vegan Girl.
I must say looking at all these blogs is inspiring. I think I’ll go make something. Crunchy, salty almonds – yum!
Savoury “Roasted” Almonds
Recipe adapted from: http://www.rawfoodhomerecipes.com/tamari-almonds/
1/2 cup almonds, soaked for at least an hour
1 tsp coconut nectar
1/2 tsp lime juice
1/2 tbsp Braggs amino acids
1/4 tsp cayenne
Mix ingredients in a bowl. Dehydrate at 55 degrees C for 2-4 hours in oven or overnight in dehydrator.
Eat while watching a great movie, or even a bad movie, they’ll still taste good.
